ITPS helps NECS implement high capacity HSCN comms across two regions

Posted on: 13th February 2023

The NHS IT services buying process relies heavily on the Crown Commercial Service procurement framework, which is designed to do much of the heavy lifting for you, and give you the reassurance that your chosen supplier has already been through a rigorous screening process before you start discussions.

As a supplier listed on CCS frameworks including RM3825 HSCN DPS, RM3764.3 Cyber Security Services 3, and RM6100 Technology Services 3, we have years of experience in helping our clients create innovative IT solutions that benefit stakeholders across the public sector.

One of our flagship contracts was a project to connect NHS organisations on 670 sites to HSCN, as part of the government’s bid to improve data sharing security and efficiency by connecting thousands of NHS and public sector organisations with health and social care providers such as pharmacies, dentists, opticians and care homes.

ITPS was awarded the contract by NHS North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) on behalf of NHS organisations across the North East and Derbyshire. The win saw our 130-strong team use the state of the art facilities at our own £4m high security North East data centre and its core communications infrastructure – which exceeded NHS Digital requirements – to provide the backbone for high speed connections for thousands of health sector staff in seven NHS organisations across the two regions.

The win was an indicator of ITPS’s track record and a team with an unrivalled depth and breadth of expertise and knowledge supporting the delivery of strategic IT consultancy, cloud, cyber security, data centre and managed services to the public and private sector

At the time we were the only supplier in the North East, and one of only 17 UK organisations judged to be capable of delivering services that meet NHS Digital’s strict supplier standards, putting us in an elite group of major players able to design and implement delivering secure, cost-effective, high capacity communications.

HSCN is part of the digital transformation of NHS services and the biggest step change in health sector IT in decades.

We were proud to have our unique mix of technical expertise, project management and personalised customer service recognised, and to play our part in encouraging collaborative working and fostering safe, efficient information sharing throughout the NHS.
