ITPS awarded Cisco Environmental Sustainability Specialisation

Posted on: 24th April 2024

Managing the competing demands of making sure our high performance data centre facilities can meet the fast-growing need for computing power while also reducing environmental impact requires a delicate balance and real commitment.

Our own Tier 3 data centre runs at an industry-leading PUE of 1.2 and reducing our carbon footprint even further is high on our agenda, so we were delighted to recently be awarded Cisco’s Environmental Sustainability Specialisation (ESS) standard.

As a long-standing Cisco Premier Provider and Premier Integrator, we’re right behind its push to achieve net zero status by 2040 through its commitment to sustainable solutions.

To achieve the ESS standard we were evaluated against our goals and ambitions around sustainability, completed various training modules, and had to show evidence that our green ambitions are outlined in internal polices and company objectives.

Holding the standard benefits our own team and our customers. We can now offer estimating tools to help them understand energy and cost savings, plus options for those wanting to recycle their old kit or make savings using refurbished kit backed by Cisco warranty.

Embedded in our company sustainability goals, which you can read more about here, (https://www.itps.co.uk/sustainability/) is accelerating our plans to offer a circular economy option for our customers, reducing our carbon footprint to net zero by 2035, and committing to 10% of hardware sales to be refurbished or recycled by 2030.

These are ambitious aims but we’re proud to be able to showcase this as something that holds us to account and demonstrates that we mean what we say. Our whole team is committed to reducing our corporate and personal environmental impact – a recent audit of our progress revealed that 20% of our staff now run electric cars.

There’s no time to waste when it comes to making sure we all play our part in using our planet’s resources responsibly. Get in touch to talk to our team about how we can help you meet your sustainability goals.
