Celebrating Success: John Faulkner, Pre-Sales Solutions Architect

A prime example of where personal drive, commitment and a supportive employer can take you, John joined ITPS as an apprentice IT Practitioner back in 2008, and is a highly regarded member of our team.

The intervening years have seen him steadily move through various areas of the business, strengthening his skill sets and gaining new experience in roles including Senior Technician, Technical Lead, Data Centre Specialist and Solutions Architect, before moving into the sales team in his current role as a Pre-Sales Solutions Architect.

“Working across different areas and being seconded out to work on client sites on long term contracts has given me an insight into all our operations. It’s also given me the chance to work within a number of our specialist teams, which include some of the most respected technical experts in the IT industry,” said John.

“ITPS has helped me to set and achieve career goals mapped out against a clear progression framework that constantly offers up new challenges and opportunities, and that’s been invaluable.”

As part of its commitment to long term structured training and development, the business has supported John through a long list of industry-wide technical certifications and self-study programmes, through full or part funding, study leave and flexible working.

“From day one when I joined as an apprentice, ITPS has always supported me in my career aspirations.  My progress has been a combination of self-motivation, and the company encouraging me to aim higher. With help from our HR team, I’m currently researching MBA opportunities, and that may well be my next career move,” added John.

“All the opportunities are there, you can go as far as you want and ITPS will back you all the way with guidance, advice, and practical training and development support.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be mentored by some incredibly talented people in my time here, and many of them have become good friends.
