The Client

Our customer is a modern, full-service and independent law firm ranked as a Tier 1 player in the Legal 500, providing a full range of legal services to businesses and individuals across the UK.


The Challenge

Technology investment and its judicious use are crucial to the practice’s growth plans, and we were invited to submit a proposal around an infrastructure refresh. To allow the existing IT team to focus on application and end user support, the practice wanted a partner with the technical expertise and track record to look at options to replace infrastructure items and take over the provision and support of its back office IT systems, phones, switches, and networks. 

Our Solution

The infrastructure revision proposal was split into eight sections, and we won all of them. The contract included providing a single managed service, covering a LAN upgrade to the network, Wi-Fi provision across the practice, and resilient WAN/Internet connectivity, including dual connectivity between several locations. Our delivery team implemented a full Office 365 roll-out supporting end user computing, and switched users to a MITEL telephony solution which connects staff and their clients from any device, anywhere. 

Back office systems are covered by all server and SAN storage housed within our own Tier 3 ISO27001 data centre in County Durham. 

We provide proactive security services through our Network Operations Centre within the data centre, which monitors, flags up, and deals with any threats before they become an issue, and provides 24/7 support for mission-critical services. 

Our full managed service provision also includes proactive management, procurement and build of any necessary new equipment.   

The Outcome

Our work saw capital costs minimised in favour of revenue based costs, providing a single monthly invoice from one supplier, with complete visibility.
Efficiency and productivity have been boosted through the creation of a stronger, more secure infrastructure and practice-wide communications, supported by a managed service. This allows our customer to focus on looking after its client base, confident that our team is looking after the technology infrastructure underpinning this successful practice.
