Like many of you, the vast majority of our employees are working from home and we have a limited rota of people at our County Durham data centre, carrying out physical activities that cannot be done from home. These employees – and clients currently using our fully equipped workspace recovery centre – are protected by stringent measures designed to keep everyone safe.

As you would expect, our helpdesk has seen a huge spike in calls, and our team have been working around the clock to get people up and running, and to provide advice on issues such as security, and maintaining vigilance against fraudsters.

In line with the latest government advice we are prioritising work and using all the technology tools at our disposal to absolutely minimise work that requires our engineers to enter our clients’ premises.

We are extremely proud to say our people are doing an incredible job in maintaining service as usual for our clients, from the commercial sector and critical service providers, through to the NHS and emergency services.

While we are always glad to receive client feedback, we were especially happy to hear from our longstanding client Summers Inman a few days ago, who said: “Well, day 2 after moving to stage 3 of our business continuity plan – home working. We must give a big shout out to our IT managed service provider ITPS. Almost all of our 130 employees across our 7 offices are now working from home with secure connections, almost as effective as in the office, and all within 24 hours to ensure our clients have as little disruption as possible to the service we provide. Well done all involved!”

You may be aware that a number of industry vendors including Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix and Mitel are providing low, or no-cost short term licensing to support remote working. If you need any information or help to access the relevant software or guidance and support on installation, please do get in touch with your account manager if you are already a client, or with any of our sales team.

If home working is a relatively new concept to your organisation, please be assured that during this crisis we have already supported a number of early remote working adopters, advising and implementing platforms including increased bandwidths, enhanced firewalls to cope with throughput demands, and workstations as a service.

By doing our bit, and helping you to do yours, we’re working together to support you and your business through the most challenging of times.

Please get in touch with us, we are here to help.
